The C2023 conference will take place in person for three consecutive days from June 19 to 21, 2023. However, the three conference keynotes will be available in person and virtually. In addition, virtual workshops will be offered on June 18 and an online international conference day will take place on June 22.
Pre-conference workshops will be online June 17, 2023, and in-person on June 18, 2023, and will be delivered in English or French, at the workshop presenter’s choice. Simultaneous translation will not be offered for workshops.
An initial conference schedule will be posted by March 6, 2023.

Presenters will be expected to register for the conference, familiarize themselves with best practices for presentations, and be available to answer questions from the audience following their presentation.

Simultaneous interpretation from English to French and French to English will be available during plenary sessions.
Yes. The final round of the Student Case Competition will be hosted on June 19, 2023. Details will be available in the final conference program available by May 27, 2023, on the conference website.
Early-bird registration for the C2023 conference opens on March 13, 2023. Registration closes on June 13, 2023. Additional registration information is available on the C2023 website.
Conference fees can be found on the C2023 website. Please note that these fees are reflective of operating costs and contribute to CES generating sufficient profit to maintain services for members.
No. Members and non-members are encouraged to participate in the conference. However, all participants need to register for the conference and CES members will be given a discount on the registration fee. Individuals that have registered for the conference will have exclusive access to all workshops (online and in-person). Workshops will become available to individuals that have not registered for the conference two weeks prior the start of the conference depending on availability.
The basic conference fee includes access to plenary events and concurrent presentations as well as coffee break and several meals. Additional fees are charged for optional pre-conference workshops and social events.
You can register for in-person pre-conference workshops on the registration form. The price of workshops is in addition to the conference registration fee. Registration fees can be found on the conference website.
No. Registration is only available for the entire conference.
In-person conference registrants will be given exclusive priority to register for both online and in-person workshops. Should there be space left in a workshop two weeks prior to the conference, registration might be opened up to all.
Refunds will be given for requests received in writing marked no later than the end of day May 17, 2023, less an administration fee of $100; send an email to secretariat@evaluationcanada.ca. After the cancellation deadline, we regret that no refunds will be granted; however, we will accept substitute delegates. The substituting party is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution as well as updating all contact information.
Currently, C2023 does not have funding sources to finance individual participation at the conference. If the situation changes, we will post the options here.
CES encourages all persons, regardless of strengths and abilities, to participate in its programs and activities. Among other features, the Conference will provide captioning and simultaneous text-based translation in the plenary room. CES is committed to holding accessible conferences that are inclusive for all participants. The conference venue, the Hilton Quebec, has accessible parking spaces, exterior entrances, hallways, meeting rooms, restaurants and gathering places. The washrooms are accessible, have grab bars and include stalls that can accommodate power wheelchairs and scooters. The elevators are accessible, have braille and audible alerts. The venue hotel is equipped with an audible alarm, strobe alarms, and visual alarm. There is also an evacuation chair available. If you have specific requirements, please let us know by May 19, 2023 at the latest so that we can make arrangements to facilitate your participation.
Simultaneous translation will be available for the plenary sessions and national events (two panels and one debate). Delegates will be able to access the simultaneous translation in English and French online and using a screen reader if they have this equipment. Captioning will also be available in the conference room. Further details will be provided closer to the date of the event.
